A Deep Dive : Stray Kids

In the magnetic world of k-pop, where new groups emerge as often as they disband, Stray Kids have managed to carve out a distinctive niche for themselves. Their dynamic stage presence, their unique blend of introspective lyrics, high-energy performance and strong self produced music has earned them a dedicated fanbase and solidified themselves in the whole music industry. Stray kids were first created in 2017 as a product of JYP Entertainment's survival reality show " Stray kids". The show was devised to select the members of a new k-pop group. The show featured pre-selected JYP trainees fiercely competing against each other in singing, rapping, dancing, and producing showcasing their talent to form the final lineup of the group. By the end of the series Bang Chan, Lee Know, Changbin, Hyunjin, Han, Felix, Seungmin, I.N were confirmed to debut as Stray Kids. They officially debuted on March 25, 2018, with their extended play (EP) "I Am NOT" and it's title track "District 9". They have skzoos of themselves which are plushy animal versions of each member.

Self-Production: 3RACHA 

One of the main factor behind Stray Kids uniqueness and success is their dedication to self-production. The core producers of their music is 3RACHA, a sub-unit that consists three members; Bang Chan, Changbin and Han. This powerful trio is responsible for the lyrics, composition and production of the groups most discographies. Their music often displays deep sensitive subjects like, youth, mental health, self-identity and societal expectations; these subjects resound deeply with their young fanbase known as Stay.Their sound is a mix of several genres such as; hip-hop, EDM, and trap mixed with euphonious vocals and fast-paced rap and sometimes using even traditional Korean instruments which creates unique sounds. Stray Kids often delve into themes surrounding identity, mental health, and individual challenges in their lyrics. Global Domination

Stray kids' latest album 'ATE' made a notable debut on the Billboard 200 - #1 billboard 200. The group released its 'Mixtape' EP in January 2018, which debuted at No. 2 on the World Albums chart, with debut studio album 'Go Live' arriving in June 2020 and peaking at No. 4 on the same chart. 'Oddinary,' the group's March 2022 EP, topped the Billboard 200, making Stray Kids only the third-ever K-pop act to top the all-genre tally.
