Voyage To Zero Point,Teknaf.

It was around 5 p.m. on Tuesday when my dad suddenly asked, "Wanna go to Cox's Bazar this weekend?" The question left my brother and me shocked. We just looked at each other, wondering if he was serious or joking. It wasn’t long before our dad cleared up our confusion, saying, "Tonmoy, give me the details of some 5-star hotels near the beach. An ocean view from the room would be preferable." Hearing this, without losing a second, I got to work. It’s not like I haven’t been to Cox's Bazar before, but this time it was different because it was a family trip with just the four of us, after a long time. The last time we went on a family trip was a couple of years ago. Although we have visited various tourist spots in our country, it was always with either relatives or friends. Since it was just the four of us this time, I was really excited. That being so, I googled the details of some of the hotels I knew and showed my dad. After a bit of research on his own, he decided we would fly to Cox's Bazar on Friday morning and booked the tickets accordingly. And that’s how the journey began.

Chander gari
We flew to Cox's Bazar on 23rd of August and stayed in the hotel "Sea Palace" for 3nights. On that day, we went around the hotel and visited the stall near the beach. We kind of just went on a walk to have a look at the surroundings. The main fun began the next day, on 24th of August. My dad hired an open jeep which are normally referred to as 'Chander gari.' We went all the way to Zero Point, Teknaf and came back to our hotel. It was a straight seven hours of journey and may be the best seven hours of my life.

At 11;05 am, we got on the jeep and started for our destination. The road was the best part. It lay between two stunning views- hills on one side and the vast ocean on the other. The sky was filled with clouds, hiding the sun, and the weather was cool and breezy. The air felt fresh, and the wind was just right, making it a perfect day. The calmness of the mountains and the soothing sound of the ocean waves made the entire experience so peaceful. I really enjoyed every moment of it.

Our first stop was 'Himchori,' which is a charming hilltop and renowned for its astonishing greenery and scenic views of the Bay of Bengal. Recently, it has been divided into two parts-one contains a small fountain whereas the other is the hilltop. Stairs have been constructed in order to reach the hilltop easily. The sweeping beauty of the ocean is at the top. The view is so mesmerizing as the endless blue ocean seems to blend with the sky. The view is incredibly refreshing for both the mind and body, making you feel more relaxed and energized.

Clouds with the ocean

Then we continued our journey. We entered Teknaf. The road became the best part yet again, lined with trees on both sides. When the clouds cleared, the sun rays pierced softly through the branches, casting a golden glow on the path ahead. After a while, mountains came in sight, their peaks touching the clouds, while on the other side, the trees were a bit farther away. Beyond the trees, the ocean could be seen sparking in the distance. As we continued along the road, the view shifted to boats, decorated with vibrant colours, lining the road alongside the tall mountains and the distant ocean beyond the trees. It felt like every moment revealed something new and beautiful. This peaceful blend of nature-mountain, tress, sky and the boats made the journey truly captivating.

After three and a half hours of experiencing the elegance of the nature, we finally reached our desired spot, Zero Point. It is known as the last frontier of Bangladesh. The road ends, with empty land all around, stretching out until the mountains. A small village lies ahead, and beyond that is Myanmar. And that's how the voyage ends and we return to our hotel travelling along the same path.
