Love Without a Language
“Life’s a game for everyone And love is the prize”
As Avicii stated in his song “Wake Me Up”. Love is nothing but an intense form of luxury, a responsibility, a commitment here on earth until death. It is by far the most beautiful thing a human can ever experience. People had found various ways to convey their love to one another and reciprocate ever since the start of humanity. It always takes a form of communication. As everyone calls it ‘Love language’. But is it possible for love to exist between two when there’s no common form of communication or a language?
As I said, love is a commitment until death. Like people say in their marriage vows, “Till death do us apart” But death wishes it was tough enough to put a barrier in front of love! Death is the start to eternity, timelessness, forever. Someone who can love can never be afraid of death, instead it’ll excite them for the new beginning of forever. However, I’m emphasizing on the love between a human and his pets.
Can love be unconditional though? Only the love from Allah for his creation is unconditional because He is the source of all the love there is. Because He is Al-Wadud(The Affectionate). The love all of humanity experience is actually just one percent of what Allah has for us. Only by loving Allah Himself first, we can achieve the ability to love truly in earth. Still we, humans are conditional beings. As much as we love and accept a person for who they are, even a small part of ourselves yearns for their acts of service towards us, expects them to be affectionate towards us, crumbles for love. But the bond between a person and his pet is completely different.
The Almighty didn’t create animals to fulfil our expectations. No matter how much we domesticate them, we can’t help but accept their wild natures and tendencies. And we love them with those too. As an owner of three cats, I love the fact that I love all of them with my everything. Even with the wild natural instincts they bring along with them, I love them. Even after coming home to several broken showpieces, I love them and I’m happy that they had fun. Even after they left me with a scratch under my eye while playing, I love them.
Thus, yes, love can exist without a common language in between. Till death makes us part ways, I’ll keep on loving them as close to unconditionally as possible on earth. As time runs through us, one day all of what we see will eventually turn into oblivion and nothingness. I consider myself fortunate enough to have found love in this little eyewink of what we call life. Through time the oblivion will turn into eternity. May I be lucky enough to experience the forever with everyone I have truly loved.
